Drostanolone is a 2-methylated dihydrotestosterone (DHT) which makes it very similar to its more popular sibling, Proviron. Basically, all the DHT derivatives are strongly androgenic, with limited anabolic and non-existent estrogenic effects. They also show strong affinity for enzyme aromatase (it facilitates conversion of some steroids to estrogens) without actually aromatizing. This specific feature makes them good candidates for use as anti-estrogens, but it must be noted that Proviron is better suited for this role.
Drostanolone propionate is therefore used in bodybuilding solely as an androgenic steroid during the cutting cycle.
